As I ventured into the wild world of surface mount electronic components, it soon became apparent that I needed some way to solder the components, other than by using a soldering iron.
Searching the web offered lots of DIY solutions including hot air blowers, and electric skillets. The best seemed to be a modified toaster oven that would bring the PCB and components up to the correct temperature to allow the solder to flow.
There are lots of resources on the interWeb that accomplish this in various ways, but none were exactly what I wanted, so I set out to design and build one from scratch.
